Snack Time

Every morning we have a ten minute snack at approximately 11:00. Healthy snacks are strongly encouraged! Some suggestions that students enjoy  include: yogurt, fruit, cheese and crackers, peanut butter with apple slices, breakfast bars, carrot sticks and ranch dressing, pretzels, 1/2 sandwich, quick breads or bagels with cream cheese, trail mix, and popcorn.    Your child may like to bring his or her own juice drink for snack. A bottle of plain water is allowed during the day.

Homework and Links

Third grade is an important year for homework. We expect that students will spend approximately 30 to 45 minutes on homework each night.  Homework will always be skills that were practiced in class.   Every morning homework is collected.  Students who have not completed and returned the assigned work on time will miss all or part of recess. In the Homework Room they are given the opportunity to complete the missing homework assignment. When the assignment is completed, he or she may go outside to enjoy the rest of the recess. If there is a reason why your child is unable to complete an assignment due to illness or family emergency, please  send in a note, and the assignment may be completed and returned the following day.
