My name is Hilary Walter, and I am a reading specialist at South
School. I work with small groups of students in grades 1-5 to
reinforce literacy skills. During this time
we practice strategies that help students master decoding and enhance comprehension.
The
first and second graders have a short nightly reading assignment. I ask that you listen to your reader, check for understanding by asking questions and sign the reading log. Students in the upper grades will complete reading homework assigned by their classroom teachers.
