Welcome to First Grade at South School!
First grade is such a
special and important time for your child and I am so excited to be a
part of it! My name is Stephanie Cournoyer. Our classroom, as a learning
environment, is safe, friendly, respectful and fun! It is also a
community that encourages a love of learning! I look forward to a great school year with you and all your precious little ones.
We are very
fortunate to have Meggin Treanor as our Developmental Instructional
Assistant to support our classroom in the morning.
On this web page, you
will find general information, ways to reach me, our daily schedule, our
homework policy and some useful websites.
Supplies for your child:
- A 2-pocket folder to bring notes and notices back and forth to school.
- 3-pack of large glue sticks.
- Please have pencils
(and erasers) and crayons at home for homework. We will provide
pencils, crayons, and scissors for the classroom.
- A lunchbox and backpack are also helpful items. When choosing a backpack, please consider one that is large enough for a folder, a lunchbox, and possibly snow gear but one that your little one can easily handle.
Wish List: Donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
- Baby Wipes
- Plastic Baggies (any size)
- Candy Land game boards
Absences: Please report all student absences to the main office via the absentee line at 432-6956.
If there is any change to your child's regular dismissal routine,
please send in a dismissal note with your child or call the main office directly. Please note that I do not always get to check my email throughout the day so if you send a dismissal email to me, please also include the main office on the email to ensure it is received. Please be sure to include the date, your child's first and last name,
my name, and your signature on all notes. Forms for a regular weekly
dismissal can be found in the main office .
Please dress the children appropriately for the weather as we will be
outside as often as possible, weather permitting. Please label
backpacks, lunchboxes, snowpants... with your child's name in the event
they are misplaced.
